Sales Terms

All our sales are covered by these sales terms.  If you do not wish to be bound by them, do not order from us.  In ordering from us you are accepting these terms.

Unless otherwise specifically stated, we supply young fish, usually about 8-14 weeks old.  In most species, the females are much bigger than the males and usually have much less color.

The pictures are of adult breeding stock.

The colors are still developing as they grow to adults, so fish may not appear as the adult pictures.   Although you may prefer specific colors, the shipments are ‘as available’ and we do not guarantee to meet specific color requests.

If a description specifies sex, we have tried in good faith to separate appropriately.   Some species may be harder to sex as juveniles and so we cannot guarantee the sex of any fish.

Please refer to the individual descriptions for likely temperament and adult size.   If you have any concerns about the suitability of any fish for your aquarium, please use the contact form to ask, we will try to advise.

Orders usually ship on the next shipping day after your order is placed and payment is cleared.  Regular shipments are only sent on Monday and Tuesday.  Nextday and two day air shipments will also ship on Wednesdays.   Orders received on Wed-Sun are usually shipped the following Monday.

We ship snails by First Class Mail and fish by USPS 2 or 3 day priority mail.   Expedited and overnight shipping available, please message for a price.  We only ship to the contiguous 48 states.  We email or message you when your fish are shipped and give you the tracking details and expected day of arrival.  The fish will arrive at your normal mail delivery time. Please make sure there is someone to bring the fish in within two hours of delivery.   We cannot be responsible for fish left on the doorstep in extreme temperatures.

Terms of Sale

  • All sales are final.

  • We try in good faith to determine the sex of our fish, although a sale may specify a sex, because they are juveniles, we cannot guarantee the sex of any fish.

  • If your fish arrived in poor health, please send two clear pictures of the fish in the sealed bag taken within four hours of delivery and let us know as soon as possible. Releasing the fish from the bag without communication and photographs of the fish ends the “arrival” period and indicates that the fish are acceptable in the condition they arrived.

  • Do not order if the temperature at delivery is below 35F or above 100F.  Our shipping boxes are insulated and we will add oxygen, heat or cool pad when necessary but we cannot be responsible for fish left more than two hours on the doorstep in high or low temperatures.

  • Buyer is responsible for knowing their home state’s laws for importation of aquatic livestock, including lists of conditional, restricted,and prohibited species.

  • We do not offer cash or card refunds.  All funds owed will be issued as store credit towards your next order.

DOA Policy

  • We guarantee live arrival on all one and two day shipments as long as they are delivered within the time frame specified by the shipping carrier.

  • Two clear photos of the DOA livestock in unopened shipping bag are required to receive credit.  These images must be received within four hours of package delivery.

  • Fish are not guaranteed past arrival. Opening the shipping bags ends the ‘arrival’ period and, without photographs, indicates that the fish are acceptable in the condition they arrived.

  • DOA credits are redeemable for the same species of fish on the next order as available.

  • No refunds will be issued for DOA livestock.

  • Shipping charges are not covered by our DOA Policy.
